Team Fortress 2 Reviews Drop To Mostly Negative On Steam

Oh, how the once mighty has fallen. Team Fortress 2, a once beloved part of the Valve catalogue, is now sitting on a Mostly Negative review on Steam, but not without reason. Over the last few days, a social movement called #SaveTF2 has kicked off in full swing, and the shocking review score is all their work.

To catch you up, the #SaveTF2 movement is all about putting pressure on Valve to stop ignoring the Team Fortress 2 bot problem, something that’s gotten almost entirely out of hand.

The movement has taken a broad approach. It started with an online petition that’s been signed and sent to Valve over 200,000 times. Then, it kicked off a social campaign using the #FixTF2 hashtag to publicly shame Valve into acknowledging how bad the problem has become and, finally, hitting where it hurts—the review section.

Over the last few days, Team Fortress 2 has been hit with a review-bombing surge, with over 14,000 negative reviews in the last 24 hours alone, effectively pushing any good reviews into the deep, dark abyss.

However, this surge in negative reviews is different from the norm because instead of being left by people just hopping onto the social bandwagon, the majority of the reviews are being left by players who have spent hundreds and even thousands of hours in the now ill-fated game.

As of writing this, Valve has yet to acknowledge the latest outrage, and even the official Team Fortress 2 channels have been dead silent.

But now I want to hear from you. Do you still play Team Fortress 2? If so, do you think all the negativity is justified, or are you a bot having a bad day because your existence is being threatened in such a bold way? Let me know in the comments.
