Computex 2024: MSI Notebook Tour and a sneak peek at the new MSI Claw 8AI+

There is no doubt that MSI has one of the most popular stands at Computex this year. If you’re lucky enough to find a centimetre to squeeze through the hordes of people ogling every bit of hardware on the stand, you’ll be more than pleased with yourself.

Since we know a person or two, thanks, Ann, we managed to get ourselves an exclusive (not-so-exclusive) tour of the laptops and handheld devices on show.

Ranging from the latest Summit and Prestige laptops, sporting the latest intel Core ultra CPUs, to a stunning 16-inch Stealth 16 AI+ that’s been kitted out in full AMG gear, MSI has managed to release a device to cover every lap out there.

While the flashy gold and black colourway from the new Summit E13 AI Evo had me weak in the knees, it was the new Raider 18 HX A7V that kept us captivated for most of our tour. With WiFi 7, an Nvidia 4090 16GB GPU and a refreshed look on the RGB layout, long-time fan of the Raider series, our very own Regardt, couldn’t keep his excitement contained.

We also managed to kick a little ass in Street Fighter on the MSI Claw, and while we were at it, catch a glimpse at the radio-active new Fallout x Claw collaboration. Thanks to the success of the Fallout series, MSI partnered up with Fallout to create a Fallout-themed MSI Claw that would have anyone breaking out of the vault just to have a look at it.

We also caught a glimpse of the next-generation Claw, the MSI Claw 8 AI+. This new model features a larger 8-inch screen, while the current model has a 7-inch display. It will pack the latest Intel Core Ultra Processor, the Lunar Lake. It also comes with double the USB-C ports, a bigger battery, and enhanced trigger feedback.

If you’re into portability, you’d better keep your eyes on MSI. Their latest range of laptops and handhelds will be available in Q3 this year.
