Today is a good day to be a Silent Hill fan. Not only has Sony revealed the official release date for Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 Remake, which will grace our gaming machines on the 8th of October, but they’ve also released a 14-minute gameplay trailer.
The trailer focuses on the early bits of the game and shows off a new take on the section where James finds the radio and encounters his first Lying Figure. For those who played the original, you’ll remember that this scene played off in an underpass; however, it plays off inside a house in the remake.
Viewers are also treated to their first glimpse of the iconic Brookehaven Hospital alongside the first decent look at this version of Maria.
Alongside all this awesomeness, we also get to see some more of the combat players can expect, with James dodging and basic attacking like his life depends on it—which it does.
As I type this, Silent Hill 2 is already available to pre-purchase on Steam and PlayStation. Doing this will net players 48-hour advanced access to the game as well as a Shiba Inu mask for James, which is a nice little callback to the original game’s secret dog ending.
But now I want to hear from you. Are. Are you as excited as I am to return to one of the most iconic and beloved versions of Silent Hill? Let me know in the comments.
If you’ll excuse me, I have a game to go and pre-order…
