Amazon Is Now Officially Live In South Africa

Amazon Is Officially Live In South Africa – Here’s the best gaming deals we could find.

As if we needed another reason to be broke, Amazon South Africa has officially launched in South Africa. As an introductory offer, shoppers can enjoy free next-day delivery on their first orders.

A quick browse through the local offering shows a pretty great catalogue of licenced stuff, specifically for gamers and tech lovers. There are some crazy cool deals on everything from TVs to consoles, accessories, and even board games previously unavailable in the country.

In a statement released by Amazon this morning, Robert Koen, managing director of Sub-Saharan Africa, Amazon said, “We are excited to launch Amazon.co.za, along with thousands of independent sellers in South Africa. We provide customers with great value, broad selection—including international and local products—and a convenient delivery experience.”

The company also announced that it is working with the South African non-profit organisation goGOGOgo, offering customers the opportunity to package eligible products in handmade gift bags. The non-profit is based in Johannesburg and has projects across South Africa. As you may have guessed from the name, goGOGOgo is aimed at helping build the capacity, skills, and knowledge of grandmothers known in South Africa as GOGOs.

In addition to offering customers direct delivery with next-day shipping options, Amazon has also opened 3,00 local pickup points, thanks to collaborations with Pargo and Pudo.

However, Amazon’s Prime services, which allow subscribers to get free shipping and free access to Amazon Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Photo and Prime Gaming, are yet to be available locally.

As for how Amazon will work locally, sellers can use Amazon Easy Ship to store and pick products, with Amazon handling the delivery process. There is also the option of self-shipping, which will let sellers handle their own warehousing, packaging, and deliveries, essentially just using Amazon as a product listing and no more.
