According To Todd Howard, Bethesda Needs To Increase Elder Scrolls And Fallout Output

It’s crazy to think, but it’s already been over a decade since we first exited that vault in Fallout 4 and even longer since The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim entered our lives.

However, that’s not to say that Bethesda hasn’t been bringing out games; after all, how can we forget the gems that were Starfield and Fallout 76? We kid, of course, Fallout 76 and Starfield were… well, definitely games, but that’s about where it ends.

So, with fans eagerly anticipating The Elder Scrolls 6, a game already in development, and Fallout 5, a game not yet in development but one that fans hope will soon be, Todd Howard is setting the record straight.

In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Todd Howard said that, like fans, he also thinks Bethesda needs to speed things up.

If I didn’t make these games, I would just be playing them all the time. Even this weekend I was jumping between Starfield and Fallout 76 and Fallout 4; that’s how I spent my weekend playing games.

And they do take a long time, and so I think one of the things that we’re focused on here is obviously making sure they’re of the highest quality, but also finding ways to increase our output, because we don’t want to wait that long either. That’s never our plan, but we want to make sure we get it right.

Now, I don’t think anyone is pushing for more crunch or unfinished games to be released, but it would be nice to get the chance to play Elder Scrolls 8 before I die. With these 15-year gaps between releases, that doesn’t seem likely, so here’s hoping.
