Manor Lords is an early-access city builder released this past week on Steam. To say that it’s been a hit is to put things mildly—very mildly. In fact, just one day after launching, the game had already sold over a million copies and drew in over 170,000 concurrent players.
Not only is that crazy impressive, but it’s also the highest number of concurrent players recorded for a city builder on Steam, and that’s not even taking into account any of the Game Pass numbers or Epic.
Since yesterday's launch Manor Lords has already sold over 1 million copies & hit a peak Steam concurrent player count of 170k – highest ever for a city builder (or for other different genres like GSG/4x/colony sim). Even more impressive is a look at SteamDB, which shows that Manor Lords, on its first day, managed to top established titles like Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 and Cities: Skylines 2.

It’s worth noting, though, that the game is an early-access title and still has all the hangups and issues that you can expect. In fact, there were so many bug reports coming in that the game’s official Discord ran into an issue where the number of active threads exceeded capacity.
If a few or a lot of bugs aren’t enough to scare you off, you can participate in some city-building record-breaking history by diving into the game by following the link to its official Steam page here.
