Is Far Cry 7’s Next Bad Guy a Peaky Blinder?

A leak from well-known leaker J0nathan suggests Ubisoft is shooting for the stars for their upcoming Far Cry 7 title.

“If nothing changes by then”

The leak shows four images: one of a giant crab from the ocean, one of a bomb with a 72-hour clock on it, one of what looks like a snip from the Far Cry 7 logo, and the last, a headshot of Cillian Murphey.

Coinciding with a previous leak on Far Cry 7, the grab seems to suggest the location for the game: an island-like setting of some sort, perhaps reminiscent of the original Far Cry or the best of the series, Far Cry 3.

The time bomb reinforces an article from Insider Gaming, where some of their sources suggested that the gameplay for Far Cry 7 would feature a timed element. It is rumoured that the player’s family will be kidnapped, and there will be a non-linear story allowing you to rescue members in whatever order you see fit. The catch is that each member is on a timer, and if not rescued before then, they will die, thus impacting the story of the game.

The most exciting of the four images, though, is the headshot of Cillian Murphy. Rumour suggests the Oscar-winning actor will play the next villain in the Far Cry series. Perhaps most popularly known for his role in Peaky Blinders, Cillian most recently captivated audiences in the Oppenheimer movie. He also excellently played Scarecrow in The Dark Knight and cleverly executed his lead role in the thriller Peacock.

If Murphy’s previous roles are anything to go off of, and the rumour is to be believed, we’re certainly in for a captivating villain in the next Far Cry game, perhaps captivating enough to make the seventh iteration of the series something those who have lost interest in the series an enticing treat.
