While the Switch console is obviously the best and technically the only place to play Nintendo’s exclusive titles, I still find it my favourite console to dive into indie games. So, whenever Nintendo announces another Nintendo Indie World Showcase, I always have a nice big smile on my face.
Forward to now, and yet again, I have a nice big smile on my face because, as announced yesterday, Nintendo will be hosting an Indie World Showcase this afternoon at 16:00.
While they haven’t revealed what exactly will be shown in the showcase, there is always the hope that this time, Team Cherry will give us more information on Hollow Knight: Silksong. I don’t think this will be the case for today’s showcase, but who knows, perhaps ‘tis the season.
Other announcements that fans are hoping for are Rivals of Aether updates, something from Brain Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim and Axiom Verge 2.
I think the Indie World Showcase has got to showcase some absolute bangers this season, as we already know that Nintendo’s lineup of first-party titles this year is looking a bit skimpy.
Add that to their pulling out of Gamescom 2024 and the delay of the Switch 2, and it looks like Nintendo may be putting quite a few of its eggs into the Indie basket this year.
