For those who don’t know the name Bellwright but love survival / town-building games, this one’s for you. Bellwright is a new, low fantasy RPG from developer Donkey Crew.
The game is a blend of survival crafting and third-person town building, and it’s coming to Early Access on Steam on the 23rd of April.
Set in low medieval times, Bellwright combines the thrill of survival, combat and open-world exploration with a deeply immersive storyline of intrigue and revolt. Players will lead a burgeoning rebellion against a tyrannical Sovereign, liberate oppressed villages, and uncover the dark secrets of their lineage.
A primary focus in Bellwright will be building up a town. However, to make the process feel more manageable for players, there is a system where players can enlist help from NPCs who can be set to work in the upcoming settlement.
The game also includes a large world for players to explore, fights to engage in, wild animals to fight, and, of course, the usual survival game staples like eating, drinking, resting, etc.
Donkey Crew plans for Bellwright to remain in Early Access for roughly three years and wants the game to be a multifaceted experience from day one.
