According to an article spotted on ZDNet Korea, Intel’s flagship CPU, the Core i9, might have a few reliability issues.
The news site spoke to a representative from one of three service centres for the Intel CPUs in Korea, who asked to remain anonymous, and it was revealed that gamers are returning at least ten of the i9 CPUs daily.
The issue they are facing is that when playing certain games, which seem to be Unreal Engine-based, the game will crash, touting a “not enough video memory” error, even though that is not the issue at all.
Multiple reports from customers from around the globe have raised the issue after running the CPU in their rig for just a few months.
So I was randomly checking out customer reviews of Intel i9-14900K/KF CPUs and wow looks like a lot of people have either received faulty chips, or their chips are degrading at an alarming rate. This is really not good… pic.twitter.com/RJ0hSu3nA9

The reports explain how users have been facing irrecoverable BSODs and game crashes, which they initially thought were not the CPU at all. However, upon replacing the CPU, everything seemed to work again.
The issues seem to affect only 13th and 14th-generation Core i9 processors.
Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech says that underclocking the CPU and turning down the voltage brings more stability to the CPU, but it is alarming to see that even users who are not turning up the heat on the usually powerful processors are facing such degradation so quickly.
There has been no official comment from Intel themselves when it comes to the problems users of the Core i9 are facing, but Intel did respond to an inquiry from ZDNet Korea stating that they are aware of problems that occur when executing certain tasks on 13th and 14th generation core processors for desktop PCs, and is analyzing them with major affiliates.
