Almost A Decade Later, Crypt Of The NecroDancer Is Getting A Hatsune Miku DLC

Crypt of the NecroDancer, everyone’s favourite rhythm-based dungeon crawler, may be almost a decade old this year, but the music has continued. The beat is as steady as ever, thanks to a brand new Hatsune Miku DLC.

The DLC lets players play as the Vocaloid digital idol, complete with unique music and special abilities. Hatsune Miku also mixes up the traditional Crypt of the NecroDancer’s gameplay.

Instead of shovelling straight forward like the other characters in the game, Hatsune Miku dashes through enemies and knocks them into walls. He also has the ability to charm enemies with a new singing ability.

The DLC will also add 15 Hatsune Miku tracks, including two exclusive new songs from the original composer of Crypt of the NecroDancer.

This crossover DLC couldn’t be more perfect because the Hatsune Miku rhythm games are already well-liked. From everything we’ve seen so far, this looks to be a fun, playful tie-in.

As of this writing, Studio Brace Yourself Games is hard at work, not only bringing new content to Crypt of the NecroDancer but also working on the sequel, Rift of the NecroDancer.
