Hearthstone Is Getting A Duo Mode… Soon!

In November last year, Hearthstone Battlegrounds’ Duos was announced as a way for players to buddy up to take on lobbies. This addition came with a release date of early 2024, and now we finally have the exact date: the 16th of April!

In the new mode, players share a life pool with their teammates and face off against three other teams.

Players can initiate a Hearthstone Battlegrounds Duos game by inviting anyone from their friend list to partner up together or even enter the queue alone.

However, it’s worth remembering that Hearthstone still lacks an in-game chat system, so you’ll have trouble coordinating and strategising with random people without that.

Hearthstone Is Getting A Duo Mode... Soon!

Hearthstone Battlegrounds’ Duos has some tweaks and twists to differentiate it from the standard Battlegrounds formula. The most significant change is that players can pass cards between each other for 1 Gold per time.

Dues will also get 4 unique heroes, 16 minions, and three tavern spells. The mode will coincide with the release of Season 7, which will be themed around fairy tales and include a full refresh for Battlegrounds.

Quests will leave as part of the update, but tavern spells will be sticking around. The main game will see a shake-up of the minion pool, with 50 brand-new additions, 12+ returnees, and a couple of new tavern spells.
