For those who might not be all that familiar with the games that The Witcher show is based on, Zoltan is not only a prominent dwarf in the game, but he is also Geralt’s closest friend. Now, he is finally joining his friend on screen, portrayed by Danny Woodburn.
If the name doesn’t ring any bells, for those old enough to remember, Danny Woodburn is perhaps best known from his days on Seinfeld as Kramer’s hot-headed friend Mickey Abbott – a stark contrast to the cool-headed and always thoughtful Zoltan.
If you’re asking yourself, okay, but why now? That would be because the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher is less based on the popular games and more based on the books that inspired everything. But let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth; Zoltan is on his way, and that’s all that matters.
The other characters joining the show for its fourth season will be Sharlto Copley as the bounty hunter Leo Bonhart and James Purefoy as Nilfgaardian agent Stefan Skellen.
Unlike Zoltan, neither of the other additions appeared throughout the games. However, both played significant parts in the book series.
It’s still unknown when Season 4 will debut, but it’s safe to assume that this year will be too soon and that a 2025 release window is more likely.
