Dead Season, a game created by just one developer, Pavel Kharev, is an unforgiving turn-based tactics game set in a world overrun by hordes of the undead.
Players will take control of a group of un-undead, and the goal is to help them escape the apocalypse. As is expected from this type of game, players will also be scavenging and completing objectives. Still, the real twist comes with how combat works.
Dead Season challenges players to try and escape the apocalypse, not fight their way through it and this is encouraged by the game’s stealth mechanic.
As with most Zombie games, noise should be avoided at all costs. If players make enough of it by shooting at things or smashing stuff, they risk triggering zombie rage, which attracts more enemies and empowers the ones already on the scene, making them faster, meaner and scary-er.
When Dead Season releases sometime this year, it will have sixteen single-player missions, filled with a wide variety of zombies to try and sneak your way past and other un-undead foes who aren’t taking the apocalypse as well as you are.
And according to the game’s Steam page, everything will be tied together with a motion comic. A demo will also be available before the game’s impending release.
