Ever Wanted A Multiplayer Survival Game Where You Play As A Bunch Of Ducks? You’re In Luck

Suppose you’ve been browsing your Steam library recently and are tired of seeing survival game after survival game that all look the same. In that case, a new game on the block looks to change all that up.

Duckside is a game you’d be forgiven for thinking is an elaborate April Fool’s joke. Developed by Tinybuild Riga, Duckside is a multiplayer survival game similar to Rust and DayZ; only everyone plays as a duck. Yup, a duck.

The game aims to offer players that familiar blend of resource gathering, tool and weapon crafting, base-building, and combat against both humans and other duck players.

Over 10 million ducks get killed per year by hunters, a statistic that would be much lower if ducks were combat trained. Enter Duckside, a persistent world survival game like DayZ or Rust… but you’re a duck, and so is everybody else.

Not only is having a group of players running around as ducks amusing, but it also means that players will be able to fly around the game at will – something that adds a novel dynamic to the game from the get-go.

Duckside was announced alongside a trailer and a short video that details some of the game-themed resource gathering and base construction. It’s not the most polished or refined survival game we’ve seen lately, but having to peck at trees and rocks is novel, no matter how you look at it.

Currently, there is no release date planned for Duckside, but if you want to learn more about the game, you can follow the link here to its dedicated Steam page.
