Who says games don’t have longevity anymore? Eight years after its release, Rainbow Six Siege surpassed its all-time Steam concurrent player record this weekend, with a new high of 201,933 gamers playing the game at once.
Those numbers are great even for a new game, but that’s huge for a game fast approaching its ninth birthday. Two things undoubtedly caused this huge boost: a free week on Steam and one of the biggest streamers on Twitch right now, Jynxzi, almost exclusively plays Siege.
In fact, Jynxzi’s appearance at the Rainbow Six Invitational 2024 helped make it the most viewed event in the game’s history, and he is almost exclusively why Rainbow Six Siege is currently the 11th most popular game on Twitch.
Another reason for the game’s soaring popularity is the Year 9 changes, including child reworks, scope changes and ADS slowdown.
But now I want to know why you think Rainbow Six Siege is still popular despite its ageing engine and dated graphics. Let me know in the comments.
