Frostpunk 2 Asks, Democratically, If You Wanna Build a Snowman This July

Just like that ice cream guy teasing his customers and never giving them the frosty goodness they want, 11-Bit Studios has been taunting us with Frostpunk 2.

Finally, though, we now know when the game will officially be released.

The 25th of July this year, smack bang in the middle of winter, and hopefully, on a day filled with so much snow, all you can do is play games inside, particularly Frostpunk 2.

The trailer also shows that there will be a Deluxe Edition of the game launching, which will grant players access to an April Beta test of the sandbox mode, a digital novella titled “Warm Flesh”, a digital artbook and soundtrack, three days early access to the base game and three future paid DLC’s. That’s a lot of stuff. It does, of course, have a hefty price tag of R1,259 on the Microsoft Store. You could be smart, though, and just get it for R612 on Steam.

The base game will set you back slightly less at R375, but it will be a day-one launch on Game Pass. You may be able to get away with purchasing the DLC Upgrade pack only if you do have Game Pass, but honestly, just get it from Steam. You’ll enjoy it more there anyway.

While the date launch trailer only gives us a few glimpses of what we can expect from the sequel to one of the greatest city-building survival games out there, it still gives me chills every time I watch it, which is now 17 times.

If you’re as excited about Frostpunk 2 as I am, let me know what new elements tickle your fancy the most in the comments below.
