Final Fantasy VII Rebirth releases tomorrow, and I’m pretty confident fans of the franchise will be glued to their screens, experiencing the story and rolling credits on the game in no time.
But then what will you do afterwards?
Well, Kazushige Nojima, one of the writers from the Final Fantasy series, has teamed up with Yoko Shimomura, the music composer for Kingdom Hearts, and a few other well-known Japanese developers to bring forth a new RPG: Reynatis.
Set in modern-day Shibuya, Tokyo, Reynatis plans to put players in a magical struggle. On one side, a wizard seeks freedom by obtaining the most powerful magics. On the other, an officer of the magical task force seeks order by keeping magic managed.
The trailer seems to suggest you’ll be playing characters from both sides of the coin, but with Nojima behind the scenes developing the story, we’ll have to wait and see how it all unfolds as you experience both light and dark.
NIS also hopes to recreate Shibuya as close to real life as possible by adding points of interest that people may have visited in Japan.
Reynata is set for a July release, but NIS America has now confirmed that a Western version will also be released a few months later, around September.
Do you think the all-star cast behind Reynatis will bring us something epic? Let us know in the comments below
