Nier Sequel Teased at Nier: Orchestra Concert

If you weren’t satisfied that NieR: Reincarnation, the mobile gacha spin-off, was the actual third entry to the Nier series, then this news might excite you.

At the Nier: Orchestra Concert held in London a few nights ago, the Director of the Nier franchise, Yoko Taro, got up on stage and asked the audience to clap their hands if they were happy, and they knew it. Just kidding.

Taro mentioned that Square Enix’s President was in the crowd, and they should applaud as loudly as possible to show how much they want another Nier game.

Of course, the whole audience rose to the occasion, “launching into claps, cheers and yells,” as someone who attended the show reported.

While all this proves is that people want more of the Nier universe, the actual teaser was a little less in your face.

During some portions of the concert, the word “REPENT” was repeatedly shown, and the final time it was displayed, it was slightly edited to “R3PENT”.

Pair this with Taro getting on stage and motivating the crowd to get behind a sequel, and it seems like we may be getting a third Nier game called NieR: Repent.

With not much more to go on, we’ll be keeping our eyes on all of Taro’s social media accounts, seeing if he “accidentally” lets anything else slip.
