Tekken 8 Reveals Plans For Rage Quitters

Bandai Namco is ready to take a page out of Super Nanny’s book and is getting the naughty chair ready for players who still think it’s a good idea to rage quit from games in 2024.

Tekken 8 has been a massive success since its debut; however, like many other online games, rage quitters have been running rampant, throwing their toys out of the cot and leaving matches just to make sure they don’t lose progress towards their next rank.

However, unlike many other online games, Bandai Namco doesn’t plan to take this disruptive behaviour lying down and has revealed its plans to deal with those less-than-savoury players.

Tekken 8 Reveals Plans For Rage Quitters

During the most recent Tekken Talk Live broadcast, director Katsuhiro Harada and producer Michael Murray explained that even though dealing with rage quitters isn’t a simple matter, made even more challenging because each country has its own legal protection, they still plan to remove rage quitters from the game service before proceeding with the bans, a feature they say will be coming to Tekken 8.

As of writing this, there is no confirmed timeline for when Tekken 8 will start tackling rage quitters, but they aren’t planning to rush it because, as Katsuhiro Harada pointed out – not everyone who leaves a game is malicious. There needs to be a process in place to separate those who leave because of connection issues (or Eskom) and those who are just toxic swamp babies.

In addition to turning their sites to rage quitters and other toxicity, the Tekken Talk Live broadcast also went into the post-launch roadmap for Tekken 8. The team confirmed eight outfits for Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Jun Kazama, and Kazuya Mishima, all based on the fighters’ appearances in other games in the series.

The broadcast also showed the main menu with Eddy Gordo, Tekken 8’s first DLC character, and announced that the DLC fighters will get story expansions telling how they fit into the game’s universe.
