There is nothing I like better on a Wednesday morning than realising I’m soon to be broke. This realisation comes after reports from industry analysts indicate that Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro edition will finally be making its appearance later this year.
It might be hard to believe, but it’s already been four years since the PlayStation 5 debuted. During that time, gamers have been tripping over themselves to get their hands on Sony’s next-gen console, so much so that there were shortages that lasted all the way into 2023.

And with the console shortages behind us, many industry professionals believe it’s time for Sony to announce its upgraded console. According to Kantan Games CEO Serkan Toto, a 2024 launch for the PlayStation 5 Pro is highly likely.
And after last week’s reports indicated that the PlayStation 5 is entering the end of its life cycle, the PlayStation 5 Pro stepping up to take its place seems more likely than ever.
Many other higher-ups in the game industry echo Serkan Toto’s views, and if they all turn out to be right, that would mean that the PlayStation 5 Pro might just be arriving before gamers even have a chance to play the much anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 – which is only set for a 2025 release.
