There is a new deckbuilding roguelite in the room, SpellRogue and much like Slay the Spire that came before, it brings an interesting twist to the genre.
To be more specific, in SpellRogue, players’ cards are all powered by a pool of dice that get re-rolled each turn.
The premise of the game is also simple. Players will have a row of cards, each needing a dice with a particular number value to activate. Each turn, you roll your pool of dice and then spend them to cast your cards. Players can also play cards that let them twist and manipulate their dice, changing what was rolled.
Essentially, this is a digital version of Dice Throne, which makes Arielle a very happy girl.

SpellRogue was released into Early Access last week and, in its current state, offers players three characters along with an entire campaign to journey through, complete with an epic boss fight to end things off.
The developers have already announced that throughout the game’s time in Early Access, they plan to add a new Air-themed wizard, new boss- and elite enemies, and more spells, artefacts, relics, potions and mutators.
