Turns Out Bloober Team Didn’t Like The Silent Hill 2 Remake Trailer Either

Back in January, a new trailer for the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake was released as part of Sony’s State of Play showcase, and it didn’t hit the mark as far as fans were concerned.

To put it this way, the trailer received 34,000 likes on YouTube, which on its own seems good, but it also received 30,000 dislikes, which is where the problem comes in.

After seeing the trailer, many fans went into the comments to brand it with words like rough, unpolished and, most devastating of all, “It looks like a PS3 game”.

However, it now seems that fans weren’t the only ones deeply disappointed by what they saw, the CEO of Silent Hill 2 developer Bloober Team, had this to say in an interview with inwestorzy.tv:

“That trailer does not reflect the spirit of the game.”

He also stressed that Bloober Team had no hand in marketing the game. Instead, its publisher, Konami, was entirely responsible for the subpar trailer.

“Certainly this trailer does not reflect the spirit of the game. It is not the spirit of either what it used to be or what we are creating now.

We try to reflect this romantic vision of the game, which debuted 22 years ago. We think that when players see real gameplay, the real game, they will evaluate it in a completely different way.”

As of now, Silent Hill 2 is still in development with no release date given yet. Are you excited about the remake, or do you think the trailer sums up the game? Let us know in the comments.
