We can’t deny that Dune has some of the most epic sci-fi gadgets and world-building out there. I mean, the Ornithopter alone is something I can’t wait for real-world science to perfect.
But, until that happens, I’ll have to be satisfied with flying the Ornithopter in Microsoft Flight Simulator, thanks to their latest free expansion.
The Dune Expansion will teach pilots how to fly the Ornithopter via three tutorials: take-off, landing, and freefall. These pilots will then test their courage and bravery with five time-trial activities and a daring rescue mission.
However, it’s not just Flight Simulator fans that can get excited over the Dune Xbox partnership.
Xbox is also giving away a Dune-themed Xbox Series S with its own custom Ornithopter stand and a floating Xbox controller. The console itself features a stunning Arrakis sun and planet design that neatly fits into the back of its Ornithopter stand. The controller encapsulates the traditional Ornithopter steel-like colour scheme and hovers above a soft dune in its cradle.
Timothée Chalamet and Austin Butler give us a quick overview of what we can expect from both the latest flight sim expansion and the sweepstakes giveaway in the video below. To enter, you just need to follow the account and do a retweet with the #XboxDunePartTwoSweepstakes.
