Dead by Daylight is about to get even scarier thanks to Lights Out, a limited-time modifier that introduces significant gameplay changes, with more Modifiers confirmed for the future.
So, for those who have no idea what Light Out means, it’s a modifier that will make maps significantly darker while also removing perks, items, add-ons, and offerings.
Alongside these changes, Survivors’ scratch marks and the Killer’s terror radius are also removed in Lights Out. But to balance this out, Lights Out will include more chests with better items for those brave enough to participate.
Dead by Daylight has also added a new Lights Out-specific Event Tome to the game, which includes six new challenges for players to complete. Completing these challenges will reward players with exclusive player card customizations and more.

As for what modifiers will be made available in the future, we don’t know. However, a recent survey issued to Dead by Daylight players might give us some idea.
The survey included some game mode ideas like a 5v5 mode where two teams of 4 Survivors and 1 Killer fight to control generators and a swapped perspective mode where Killers play in the third person while Survivors play in the first person. The Lights Out modifier was also one of the mode options, which means the other modes are possible candidates for future modifiers.
But now I want to hear from you. Are you brave enough to play the Lights Out modifier? Let me know in the comments.
