Astrolabe Games, one of our current favourite publishers, is releasing a demo for one of their titles during the upcoming Steam Next Fest.
Evotinction, developed by Spikewave Games, is a third-person, stealth-first game set in a dystopian, near-future world. A rogue virus has taken over AI at an isolated facility, and it’s up to you, as one of the engineers, to figure out what went wrong and fix it.
Spikewave Games have marked it as a “hack-and-stealth” game. Realistically, being an engineer with zero combat training doesn’t exactly bode well for you when you land up in a bit of fisticuffs with a robot.
Instead, you must use your tech-savviness to hack your way through the facility. Long-Range Signal Disrupting, Radio & Electromagnetic Jamming, Hologram Illusions, Malware Implanting, System Takeovers, and IFF Spoofing are what make up your arsenal, and it’s up to you to find out if this virus was just an accidental AI takeover, or if there’s something more sinister lurking in the log files.
