DnD Adding Two More Letters to the Acronym – VR

With the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3 and the obviously significant impact that Stranger Things has had on the franchise, Dungeons and Dragons is on the tips of everyone’s tongues again.

And riding that modern wave, Wizards of the Coast have now teamed up with Resolution Games to bring us the first ever Dungeons and Dragons game in Virtual Reality.

Resolution Games created Demeo, the VR Table Top RPG that had every tabletop gamer drooling back in 2021 and has since been adding more and more to the game regarding cross-platform playability. Even a PvP scenario called Demeo Battles.

“Resolution Games has a clear understanding of how to bring players together and capture the fun of tabletop gaming on digital platforms in an accessible way,” said Eugene Evans, SVP Digital Strategy and Licensing at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. “They are an ideal partner to bring a new DUNGEONS & DRAGONS video game to life in VR and beyond.”

This is the ideal partnership to bring Dungeons and Dragons gamers together while still modernising and elevating the tabletop experience.

While no release dates have even been hinted at, the announcement itself is exciting enough to have me diving back into making sure my miniature figures are all freshly painted so that I have something to base my virtual creation on later.
