Capcom Coming In With Some Good News For Fans Of Ace Attorney

This morning, a producer from Capcom gave fans of the Ace Attorney some good news: the publisher has no plans to abandon the series anytime soon.

First released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance, the Ace Attorney franchise has since spawned a trilogy on the handheld console before being ported to the Nintendo DS and brought to the West.

Ace Attorney is widely praised for helping to popularise visual novel games in the West. In the years since its debut, the franchise has seen three sequels on the Nintendo DS and 3DS, the Miles Edgeworth-focused Investigations, and the Great Ace Attorney spin-off duologies.

Over the years, Capcom has repeatedly re-released the franchise for modern consoles. In keeping with that trend, January 2024 will see Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy getting a release.

The producer of the Apollo Justice trilogy re-release, Kenichi Hashimoto, has come out and promised that there is currently no end in sight for the series.

When asked if that means there will be new games coming to the franchise soon, Kenichi Hashimoto had this to say:

“At this time, there is nothing to talk about, but we have gained a lot of knowledge about the RE Engine.

I can say that the Ace Attorney series will not be stopping, so in that sense, I think you can look forward to what is coming.”

The last mainline title released in the Ace Attorney series was Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, initially launched on the 3DS in 2016 and is one of the games bundled in the Apollo Justice collection.

But now I want to know if you would play a new entry into the franchise. Let me know in the comments.
