I don’t know why I’m sitting here writing this news piece because after typing the words “Robot Friend Coming To Diablo 4”, the rest seems completely unimportant, but let’s do this.
If you’ve ever sat and thought to yourself, man oh man, Diablo would be so much better if only I had a little robot spider that was scarily good at killing demons, then Diablo 4 season 3 is about to make that dream of yours a reality.
Diablo 4 season 3, named The Season of the Construct, will be starting on the 23rd of January and will see to it that every Diablo 4 player gets gifted with a spider companion named the “Seneschal”.
This little robot companion can be equipped with powerful skills, and much like the vampiric powers in season 2, players will be able to tailor the Seneschal to their build as they progress through the quest line.
The season will kick off with the discovery of vaults underneath the dunes of Kehjistan. Here, players will discover an artefact created by the returning character Zoltun Kulle, “The Loom, ” corrupted by the demon Malphas.
Malphas will be the season’s new boss encounter, and vaults will be the season’s primary source of loot. Some other key features arriving with the new season are:
- A new seasonal hub area called The Gatehall with vendors and portals
- Persistent Helltide events with five-minute breaks in between
- An extra stash tab
- A skill tree respec mode that lets you swap skills before confirming the changes
- Guaranteed item power 925 drops from various activities after level 75, including tier 90+ Nightmare Dungeons
- Six new unique items
Considering just how much of a positive change Season 2 brought to Diablo 4, it’s encouraging to see that Season 3 looks like it’s planning on continuing with the same positive momentum.
Diablo 4 season 3, the Season of the Construct, will be available to play from the 23rd of January.
