GSC Game World has had one rollercoaster of a time working on the sequel to the fan-loved game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. From having to move offices because of the Ukraine-Russia war and then battling a fire that took out some of their servers, it’s been no mystery as to why S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl has faced a couple of delays.
Now, after having a version of the game up and running for the first time during Gamescom 2023, the team have decided to delay the game’s release one last time.
GSC noted that during the thousands of “play tests” that took place at Gamescom, they wanted to work a little bit more on the technical side of the game.
Of course, the 5th of September does feel like a lifetime away right now, but I, and I’m pretty certain every real gamer out there, would much rather have a great game released later than an okay game released now.
You can pre-order the game on Steam while you wait, and if you need a little more motivation, check out the intense af trailer below.
