Palworld Shoots Itself into Early Access and Game Pass Next Week

Since the late 90s, we have wondered what it would be like if Pokémon were actually real. Giant beasts that have the ability to control the elements seamlessly live alongside humans as if they can’t just wholly destroy us in the blink of an eye.

Palworld took this idea and then accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction… CHEMICAL X!- I mean guns. They added guns.

The Pokémon meets guns meets Minecraft meets Fortnite game has many intertwined game aspects: base-building, survival mechanics, monster hunting, raiding, mounts and even a story-driven RPG. I mean, there’s a lot going on here.

Whether the designers behind the game, Pocket Pair, might have bitten a little more off than they can actually chew or not, the game is still launching into early access next week, Friday, the 19th of January. Not only will you be able to pick it up on Steam, but Pocket Pair has also managed to team up with Microsoft to get the game on to Game Pass, which will go live on the exact same date.

Early Access does mean that there is a high chance that all the aspects planned for the game won’t be immediately available. Still, there will be open-world multiplayer with up to 32 players on launch, which points to a whole lot of chaotic pal fighting and bullet dodging nonetheless.

On top of the 100 in-game pals, base building and boss fights, Pocket Pair says they will be adding PvP and even more pals at a later date.

If blasting holes in studio-ghibli-like beasties is up your alley, you can add the game to your wishlist now so that you don’t forget to pick it up when it officially launches.
