In February of 2022, a group of veteran game developers from CD Projekt, including Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, announced the launch of a new studio called Rebel Wolves.
Alongside the announcement was a tease of the company’s first game via some early concept art. Now, almost exactly two years later, Rebel Wolves have gone ahead and dropped the game’s title and some new art.
The debut game will be called Dawnwalker, and while no details about the game have been revealed, they say an image is worth a thousand words. If that’s true, this image is screaming Vampire over and over and over again.
As seen in the cover of this port, the image shows a silhouetted figure emerging from a cloud, sword above their head, claw-like fingers extended on top of a blood-red background.

Dawnwalker could also be a play on the popular Vampire term Daywalker, but again, all this is just speculation. Right now, other than acknowledging that the image sure is nice to look at and has a sort of blood-sucking air about it, we don’t know anything for a fact.
However, we do know that Rebel Wolves also recently added another CD Projekt alumny to its lineup: Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, who previously served as lead quest designer on The Witcher 3 and its outstanding Blood and Wine expansion and quest designer and designer director on Cyberpunk 2077, has joined his former CDPR mates as the studio’s creative director.
In a statement Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz said:
“Throughout all my years in game development, story-driven role-playing adventures have always been something I was most passionate about.
For me, nothing beats being able to fully immerse myself and discover handcrafted stories and worlds.
There are so many fantastic RPGs out there today, however, I feel that there’s not only enough space but also a hunger among players for more captivating stories.
We want to craft a world that you will want to explore and dive deep into and tell stories that make you care about the characters.
We aim to deliver an experience that will allow for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed.”
On the Rebel Wolves website, Dawnwalker is described as Rebel Wolf’s own AAA IP and dark fantasy RPG, and it will be the first game in a planned series.
