Will the Switch 2 launch in Septemeber 2024?

Does anybody remember GameShark? Those guys that made cartridges for older consoles like the PlayStation, Game Boy, or Nintendo 64… where you plugged it in and could download game cheats.

Looks like GameShark isn’t done with getting people ahead of the game. The company may have accidentally announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 without Nintendo’s official approval.

In a press release, the company said it would rebrand to Ai Shark, providing gamers with an AI experience that assists them in real-time during game sessions. You can check out our news piece on the peripherals here.

Unlike traditional “cheat” tools that manipulate hardware, load mods and cheat codes, Ai Shark focuses on aiding individuals in improving their gameplay over time. Tailored for casual gamers, this software seamlessly integrates with Altec Lansing’s commitment to delivering unparalleled audio experiences and bringing superior levels of innovation to market.

While that sounds cool and all, the real news was the content of the last few sentences in the first paragraph:

The innovative gaming software is set to mark a significant leap forward in the gaming experience, bringing enhanced gameplay for beginner-level users. The official launch is planned to coincide with the Nintendo Switch 2 in September 2024.

Ai Shark has since announced that they were “just guessing” when the Switch 2 would release, and the press release now reads: “Altec Lansing plans on introducing its new offering in time for the holiday season 2024.”

While Nintendo has not yet made any official announcements, September 2024 seems like the right time for the Switch 2 to be released. We’ll just have to keep our ears close to the pipes and see what comes out over the next few months.
