AI Gaming Peripherals? Yes Please – Take My Money

With the quick rise of AI and its proliferation in all sectors of the world, it was only a matter of time before these leaps in AI were implemented in useful ways.

Thanks to promises from a new peripheral maker, AI Shark, gamers can look forward to a future of game controllers that can suggest button remaps and sensitivity adjustments based on how you use it, keyboards that will recommend key remaps and macros tailored to your gaming habits, and gaming mice that can adjust DPI settings in real-time, ensuring that your cursor movements are always accurate and fluid.

How AI Shark plans to make these promises a reality is yet to be seen. However, according to their website, they’ve updated gaming products and brought them into the age of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and supercomputers.

To offer some background, AI Shark is a company that debuted at CES 2024 and claimed that its clever use of AI will provide a significant advantage to gamers worldwide. AI Shark is also not new; back in the 90s, the GameShark was an accessory that allowed console players to cheat in games, access test levels, and cut content by altering game code in memory.

The same man who oversaw the GameShark in its heyday has ties to AI Shark and is involved with it, so there is a legacy there. It’s also worth noting that AI Shark already partnered up with audio company Altec Lansing, which released a press release announcing itself as “the first licensee of AI Shark’s cutting-edge gaming software.”

The headset the two are collaborating on promises users real-time auditory guidance and verbal cues about in-game events to give them an advantage as gamers. All the products listed on Ai Shark’s website are product concepts with tech demo proof of concepts already developed.

It’s worth keeping in mind that with the popularity of AI, everyone wants in on the hype, so it’s always better to air on the side of scepticism.

But with that, what are your thoughts on AI Shark? Let me know in the comments.
