A New Sony DualSense Controller Has Popped Up Online With A New And Improved 12-Hour Battery

A little over a month ago now, the internet was ablaze with rumours that Sony was hard at work on developing a new version of its DualSense controllers that would be able to provide gamers with hints by selectively lighting up its button faces.

This rumour came about because of patent documentation filed by Sony. While there is no guarantee that a feature like that would ever make it to market, it did excite many PlayStation users about the possibility of a DualSense V2 controller.

Originally released alongside the PlayStation 5, the DualSense offered several notable improvements compared to its DualShock 4 predecessor. Some of the most significant features include haptic feedback support and adaptive triggers.

Thanks to a potential leak from well-known Canadian retailer Best Buy, the possibility of a DualSense V2 controller seems more likely than ever. Last night, Best Buy listed what looks to be a revised version of the PS5 DualSense controller, marked with a V2 signifier and boasting a far superior battery life than the current model.

Adding even more merit to this leak is that the page listing the controller is still up and can be viewed by following the link here.

A quick look through the product description shows the same features and specs as the current DualSense controller, except for a new and improved 12-hour battery life. The controller also has a DualSense charging station to support easy click-in charging.

I’m not sure how legitimate this listing is, but in general, Best Buy is pretty reliable, so we’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.
