With the Announcement of the 4000 Series Super Cards Nvidia Declares EOL for the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti

It’s official: the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti and the RTX 4080 have reached end of life, with the RTX 4070 Ti marking one of the shortest-lived lifespans of a GeForce card ever.

However, this isn’t super bad news. In fact, it’s super good news as this paves the way for Nvidia’s new and improved Super cards to take their place. The RTX 4080 Super and the RTX 4070 Ti Super promise more cores, memory, and speed, all for the same price or lower.

The new RTX 4080 Super, set to release at the end of January, will feature the same 16GB VRAM as its predecessor, but it boasts more performance due to its increase in CUDA cores and is set to launch at $200 (about R3,700) less than the original RTX 4080.

The RTX 4070 Ti Super will now come with 16GB of VRAM, 4GB more than its predecessor and will also come with a boost in its CUDA cores. The price will remain the same as the original RTX 4070 Ti, but with such a significant performance boost, if you ever see the two side-by-side going for the same price, it’s more than an easy choice to go for the RTX 4070 Ti Super.

The standard RTX 4070 will still be produced, but a Super version is also launching alongside the RTX 4080 Super and the RTX 4070 Ti Super, with a similar upgrade pattern to the RTX 4080 Super.

If you’re on the hunt for a well-priced, relatively modern GPU, considering that both the original RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti are only about a year old. Both of these would be great pick-ups since we should very quickly start to see these cards selling for discounted prices from middle to late January when the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4070 Super officially launch.
