Believe it or not, the NAG Magazine: The Annual 2023 Special Edition Loot Ticket (yes, that is a mouthful) was finally found by one of our NAG Mag fans over the holidays!
The R30,000 PC is brimming with high-end components, from an Intel Arc A750 to the Intel 13th Gen i7 CPU.
Using modern technology, we were able to check in with Nadia, all the way down in the Western Cape, just to find out a little bit more about 2023’s luckiest NAG fan.
It turns out that Nadia has been reading NAG since she was around 12 years old; not to give her age away or anything, but she’s been a long-time supporter. Thanks Nadia! Heart hands. Considering she has been a NAG Mag reader for quite some time, we also asked what she thought about the new NAG Annual, and, of course, she really liked it. To her, seeing the year in review was awesome, and she loved the NAG awards given to some of South Africa’s content creators. Don’t forget that that was only part one of the awards, and we’ll be giving out more as 2024 rolls on in. While the cover discs do have some awesome content on them, Nadia loves that they also serve the extra function of keeping her table safe by being awesomely awesome coasters.
If you pegged Nadia as a competitive gamer, well, you’re spot on. Her favourite games are competitive games like Valorant and Escape from Tarkov, although she also enjoys the more causal RPG experiences like the ones provided by Baldurs Gate 3, Dragon Age and Mass Effect. She also can’t wait for Skull and Bones to release, just like us, and she hopes that it’s as “booty-ful” as promised. We’ll try our very best to get a review out to let you know just how booty-ful it is, Nadia.
Once we had learned more about who Nadia was, we were super excited to find out if her loot ticket find was just as magical as it was for Charlie when he found his ticket in that delicious chocolate slab. Side note: the NAG Magazine: The Annual 2023 Special Edition tastes just like chocolate if you lick each page in a specific, hidden order.
I should preface this by saying that I never win anything like this. I’d given up even trying. In this case it was the NAG nostalgia that had me buying the magazine in the first place. When I was paging through I felt something a bit harder than the normal pages but I didn’t immediately skip to it. I thought it was one of the prints or best case a voucher of some sort 🙈 When I turned the page where it was, I think I just stared at it for a solid minute 😂 When I let my mom and best friend know I even said “I think I won…”, I was still not even sure. But here we are! And I’m soooooo excited 😍
With her badass new rig, Nadia plans to go back to her favourite games that she’s never been able to enjoy on maximum graphics and push those sliders all the way to eleven!

How long have you been a NAG reader?
NV: I think I was about 12/13 years old. That would be around 2008/2009 when I started buying it 👵🏻
What did you think of the new magazine?
NV: I really liked it. I think it was a great way to see the year in review, and there was some fun content. The streamer awards were a great way to create some hype in the community as well.
What’s your favourite piece of the NAG Magazine? Old and new
NV: The free cup holders are great 😂 buuuut the game reviews have always been what help me the most. When things get busy, I lose track of new releases and what the community thinks of certain games and this really helps me to decide what I need to look at playing next.
Tell us how you unlocked the Loot ticket?

What do you look forward to most about your new gaming rig?
NV: I’ve never really been able to play much on “high” or “ultra” graphics settings. I think I’m going to have some fun going back to some of my favourites and ramping up those settings 😈
