Hot dog! After just a few months of Metroidvania madness with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy, the 3D, four-player co-op platformer is getting its first “major” update, featuring a few quality-of-life fixes, but more importantly, a new game mode.
The ‘Keeper Up’ update will be released for free for anyone who owns the game on Nintendo Switch and features time trials of “remixed” versions of the original in-game maps, where players will have to make their way through stages, collecting as much as they can, in the fastest time possible.
The update’s quality-of-life features include accessibility features, more gallery unlocks and an updated map.
In this fast-paced new experience, players must try and beat the clock and show off their parkour prowess, thanks to a set of new challenges arranged by the ‘Mavens of Monoth,’ a group of ‘old Monoth’ enthusiasts who want to see if anyone knows how to navigate these lands better (and faster) than them,” a press release reads. “Upon entering a course, a timer will tick away as players scramble to grab collectables through remixed areas of the world, making their way to the finish line in the best time possible.
Disney’s Illusion Island was also nominated for Best Family Game of 2023 by the Game Awards, and although it lost to Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it’s still looking like a great way to spend time with the kids this Christmas.
You can pick it up on the Nintendo eShop for R729 here.
