Slated for release in early 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Steam, Contra: Operation Galuga plans to build upon the original arcade Contra game with a new mission for the team.
The Red Falcon Terrorist group have taken over Galuga island, and it’s up to Earth Marine Corps top soldiers Bill Rizer and Lance Bean to get things sorted.
Konami just dropped a trailer showing off the two heroes of the Contra Team, as well as other playable characters that will be featured in the new game as you progress through the story.
The trailer shows off Bill Rizer, Lance Bean, Ariana, Lucia, Lt. Stanley Ironside and Probotector as the playable characters, each with their own skills and weapons to be used in the game.
The game will also feature rogue-lite mechanics where players can upgrade perks and characters using in-game currency collected through their playthroughs. There will be the typical Story and Arcade modes, as well as a Challenge mode for those who want to feel like they’re sitting in front of that arcade machine with a bucket full of coins.
