Last week, we finally received our first real look at what the Fallout TV series will look like, thanks to a behind-the-scenes report and the first trailer for the show.
These reveals gave us our first look at some of the show’s core cast and the surprisingly bright and colourful post-nuclear world. Now we have even more information about it for fans to get excited and maybe feel a little confused about:
Vault Boy, the real-world mascot that gamers know and love, the in-game avatar of Vault-Tec, will be receiving an origin story.
Origin stories are part and parcel of cinematic adaptions, but this one seems… strange? Partly because, as those who have played the game already know, there isn’t much “origin” to that story.
Vault-Tec needed a way to sell its products to the public. So the only origin story here would be some ad guys sitting in a room, workshopping ideas for a way to sell a product.
But now we want to hear from you. Do you think an origin story for Vault Boy has merit? Let us know in the comments.
The Fallout TV series is set to air on Prime Video on the 12th of April, 2024.
