Just yesterday, Capcom held their Dragons Dogma showcase, officially announcing the release date for Dragons Dogma 2 and giving us an epic spectacle of what we can expect from the highly anticipated sequel.
22 March 2024 has now been confirmed as the release date for the game, and it will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
The second game in the series will place players in a world bursting with fantasy. With various races and realms to navigate and manage socially as the player chooses, however, your main quest will still be to slay the Dragon that has taken your heart.
The showcase also shows off (get it) a new monster that players will need to fight in game called Talos, a man-made bronze giant bringing destruction to the land.
Of course, the game will feature its classic pawn system, which gives players a sense of company through their single-player RPG experience. An apprentice by your side to chat to, have dinners with and keep you sane.
Both your own character and your pawn are fully customizable, so you’d better block out at least two weeks from your calendar to get all that done.
You can check out the full showcase below to get yourself all hyped up for the game, and when that’s done, you can already pre-order both the standard and deluxe editions, which come with pre-order bonuses.
To end all this exciting news off, here is a message from Dragon’s Dogma 2 Director Hideaki Itsuno:
Dragon’s Dogma is a game that I dreamed of playing as a boy who loved TRPG-based games and action games, and I have a special attachment to it. Dragon’s Dogma 2 incorporates ideas that were not technically feasible at the time we created the first game. I believe this game will let you experience the fantasy world you’ve always dreamed of, a fantasy world action simulator game, and ultimately be the ultimate Dragon’s Dogma.
The entire team is working hard on the final touches of the game. Whether you’ve played the first game or not, we hope you’ll enjoy your adventure in this open fantasy world.
