Well, this isn’t good. According to review scores from critics, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is officially the worst-rated game in the franchise’s history.
This news comes just days after Activision revealed that it already had planned out the following four instalments of Call of Duty. Still, those games might need a second look with this all-time franchise low.
On the 29th of October, Call of Duty celebrated its 20th anniversary, just a few days before the Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access promo kicked off.
And while the multiplayer beta already had many complaining about the game, the single-player early access that kicked off on the 2nd of November has seemingly opened the floodgates for many to take to social media and air their grievances about the lacklustre story, boring campaign and the fact that it takes longer to download the game than it does to beat its single-player mode.
These complaints are mirrored in the game’s critical reviews, with many calling it an underwhelming experience at best and calling the franchise out for resorting to recycled content and lazy development. And as a result, it’s now the worst-rated game in Call of Duty’s history.
As of writing, the PC version is sitting at an average score of 45 out of 100.
But now we want to know from you: have you played Modern Warfare 3, and if so, is the criticism justified? Let us know!
