Nintendo fans rejoice! The flagship Nintendo store has officially opened its doors in Sandton City, and we were lucky enough to catch the opening ceremony and revel in all the new and flashy Nintendo merch in-store.
Located just opposite the food court, near the Krispy Kreme, the new Nintendo Store is bigger, better and brighter than ever before. Inside, you will easily find yourself getting lost in excitement, searching through the racks of Amiibo’s for your favourite one, or deciding which Pokeball you need to start off your collection.
There are multiple Nintendo Switches set up for customers to test run a few games, from Super Mario Bros. Wonder to Detective Pikachu: Returns, and even the classic Super Smash Bros. to challenge your friends to see who will be paying for the pair of Donkey Kong shirts you have been eyeing out.
Over the course of the opening weekend, the 10th to the 12th of November 2023, Nintendo will be handing out freebies to customers, have opening specials on most of their in-store stock, and Mario and Luigi themselves will be hanging out offering free hugs.
The store is stocked to the brim with Nintendo Switches, cases and accessories, rows and rows of Amiibos to choose from, Pokemon cards and collectables, as well as exceptionally impressive 13-inch figurines of both Mew Two and Lucario, officially licensed Nintendo shirts and hoodies featuring popular Nintendo characters and a whole shelf dedicated to the hero of Hyrule himself.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, why not pop into the new Nintendo store and say hi to the staff, ready to assist you with anything Nintendo you can think of.
