In a real good news/bad news situation this Friday morning, it has just been announced that Arcane, the spectacular League of Legends animated series that premiered back in 2021, is officially returning… only it’s still a year away.
As part of Netflix’s Geeked Week event, the streaming juggernaut announced that Arcane season 2 will be released in November… of 2024.
And while it’s exciting to have a release window to look forward to, it’s still disappointing how long it’s already been and still will be for season 2 to arrive – if there are no delays along the way.

Still, Arcane was a fantastic show, and it was even the first streaming series to win an Outstanding Animated Program award alongside an Emmy. Netflix also confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld, who voiced Vi, Ella Purnell as Jinx and Katie Leung as Caitlyn, will also return for season 2.
But it feels terrible leaving you with this good news bad news on a glorious Friday, so to make up for that, here is Riot’s five-part documentary on the making of Arcane that you can watch while you start counting down the days for the show’s grand return. Enjoy.
