Half Life 1 turns 25 in just ten days, and with that major milestone just around the corner, some folks have spotted over on SteamDB that Valve has added a sneaky little update to the game.
Quite a few new depots have been added to the backend of the game, however, they are all password protected and aren’t named anything that could hint at all at what the update could be.
All that has been established is that the new test depots are for multiple platforms, like Linux and MacOS, come in several different languages, and there is material for GoldSrc, the original build engine used to create Half Life back in 1998.

Some speculations revolve around an RTX-like upgrade, similar to the one we have seen being done to Half Life 2, others seem to think that this could, somehow, be the Half Life 3 we’ve been waiting for, but it’s more than likely a small, in-game update that will take players on a short adventure, paying homage to the awesomeness that Valve started 25 years ago.
Got any ideas on what you think the update could be? Let us know in the comments below.
