It’s Wednesday, which means it’s traditionally the day of laughing at our screenshots and captioning them. Still, today is also the day that the next significant update for Guild Wars 2’s Secrets of the Obscure expansion, dubbed Through the Veil, was released.
Through the Veil is the second of four releases that will make up the stuff expansions, and it adds the first part of the expansion’s third and final map.
The map is one of the most exciting parts of the update, and it will continue to be expanded in future updates. The map in question is outside Tyria and called Inner Nayos, set within the demon realm.
This marks the first time that players can get a glimpse at how the new expansion cycle for Guild Wars 2 will work under their new system that prioritises smaller but more frequent releases.
Through the Veil also adds a handful of new Masteries to the game, including an upgrade to the Skyscale’s fireball skill and upgrades to Convergence rewards and abilities.
Overall, Through the Veil will be a great test to see how Guild Wars 2’s new structure holds up in the long run.
Now we want to hear from you. Do you play Guild Wars 2, and if so, how do you feel about the new expansion system? Let us know in the comments.
