Over the years, it’s been an open secret that many gamers feel that Hideo Kojima’s biggest mess up was replacing the longtime voice actor David Hayter with Kiefer Sutherland in Metal Gear Solid 5.
Since that fateful day, David Hayter hasn’t been heard as the voice of everyone’s favourite Snake in over a decade, which is why the latest teaser trailer uploaded to Konami’s YouTube channel has so many gamers losing their minds.
The teaser trailer is only 28 seconds long, and it’s for the Metal Gear Solid Legacy series. Still, the exciting part is that it stars David Hayter.
Now, it’s worth noting that David Hayter is being used to promote the Metal Gear Solid Legacy series. Still, it has yet to be confirmed that he could be returning as the voice of Snake in the new game.
The description for the teaser says, “David Hayter guides us throughout iconic moments in the #MetalGearSolid franchise.”
Over the last while, Konami has been hinting that Volume 2 of the MGS Master Collection is in the cards, so the chances of David Hayter returning for a new role in a new game seem slim. Instead, this is likely little more than a spectacular marketing campaign.
