It’s Friday again, and not only is it time to pack away that work laptop and change into your comfy pants, but it’s also time to download the free Epic Games Store games to your libraries; you’re welcome for the reminder – we aim to please.
For those of you who only got access to the internet yesterday, every Thursday and sometimes Friday, Epic Games makes a new game, or sometimes, when you’re fortunate, two games are available for gamers to download and add to their libraries for free.
All gamers need to do to grab this gift from the gods for themselves is log into their Epic account, redeem the game or games on offer and add it to their library. Whatever you’ve redeemed is then yours to keep, to play or to add to an ever-growing list of games you mean to play but probably never will.
This week, Epic is once again offering two free games. Tandem: A Tale of Shadows and The Evil Within 2, both of which are available from today until the 2nd of November for you to go and redeem.
Tandem: A Tale of Shadows
[Get It Here]
Typically retailing for R80, Tandem: a Tale of Shadows is an interesting game that failed to hit the mark when I first played it – although it does sit with Very Positive reviews now, so the game may have been fixed a lot.
Essentially, Tandem: A Tale of Shadows is a puzzle platformer with unique top-down visuals and side-scrolling gameplay.
Players must help Emma and her teddy bear, Fenton, solve the mystery of the disappearance of the famous magician Thomas Kane.
The game has a very Tim Burton-esque art style, and while I didn’t love it in early access, it might be worth revisiting now.
The Evil Within 2
[Get It Here]
The Evil Within 2 goes for R500 usually and is the direct continuation of the massively successful Evil Within Game.
Players will take on the role of Detective Sebastian Castellano, a man who has lost everything. Still, when he gets the chance to save his daughter, he is willing to risk everything he has, including his sanity, to do so.
The Evil Within 2 is a survival horror game that is right up there with the genre greats like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, and for those who are looking for something genuinely creepy and scary to play this Halloween, look no further.
If either of these two games sounds like something you want to play, remember to head over to the Epic Games Store and add the games to your library before the 2nd of November to make sure you have them to play whenever you want.
