The air was hot and almost as clammy as our leather-clad hands that reached for the mysterious paper and file offered to us by someone we had always thought we could trust… but you know how the saying goes.
Without needing to take it from the outstretched hand, we can see that the file has a name on it. A name that shouldn’t be known to anyone outside the select few, and seeing it is like turning on a switch, and our heart starts to race with anticipation.
Something about this feels… wrong, yet also… exciting. Could this have anything to do with the safe we’ve been trying in vain to crack, the whole reason we’re here, or is it nothing more than a bitter farewell from Cody, our disgruntled getaway driver who didn’t manage to do any part of his job right?
After just a moment of careful consideration and studying, something Cody should have done before he put his foot on that peddle, we come to a decision.
It’s not even like it’s really up to us; what happens next was decided when we first saw that mysterious safe from beneath our mask. If it contains even half the riches it is rumoured to, we’d risk anything… or anyone.
The only that’s certain is that we need to get into that safe, and the static in the air, indicating something is about to go right or really, really wrong, says that the answer is right there, in that damn file.
So with all the confidence of Cody, taunting the men in blue before putting his foot onto the peddle of a car that was unadvisedly not checked for gas, and more than a bit of sweat exuding from every pore, we take the file.
And with our heart echoing in our ears louder than Cody’s screams as the armed men on the “right” side of the law removed him from the car, we grab the file, and open it.
