V-Rising 1.0 Launch Planned for Q2 2024

Believe it or not, V-Rising, the indie vampire hit, is not even in its 1.0 stage… yet.

Launched into Early Access in 2022, the game has been blessed with major popularity, and it’s easy to see why. It’s great, especially for an Early Access game. Stunlock Studios, though, have finally decided that it’s time to kick this baby into full gear and launch the full game.

In a dev update, the studio announced that they are planning to have the 1.0 launch in Q2 of 2024, and along with it comes some major overhauls to the game.

Stunlock Studios explains how they’ve been working on an experimental version of Unity, which has allowed them to pull off quite a few of their crazy in-game features. Still, it has also hindered their development because the engine wasn’t updateable until now. With the engine hitting its 1.0 release, the team have been able to slowly update the foundation of the game itself, allowing them to push forward and flesh the game out into the 1.0 release they’ve been working towards.

“The 1.0 patch is centred on enriching the final chapters of your Vampire chronicle”, says the dev post. The patch will feature a new in-game zone where Stunlock teases “The Ultimate Rival” and “The Final Challenge.”

Stunlock also mentions bringing back the ability to customise your character’s outfits, not just their facial appearance. This will allow you to add your own sense of flair as you attempt to become the most dominant predator of the land.

Adding to these changes, the dev team says they will be adjusting how V Bloods and their spells are gained. This is done to assist those who are playing the game for the umpteenth time and feel like the spell acquisition has become a bit stale. Previously, you would gain Spell X at around Time Y in the game every time you played it, but in the future, you should have more flexibility on both how and when some spells are acquired.

Another big one is the addition of live events. These will encourage all vampires on the server to “meet” up and work together or against each other in epic combat.

There’s a lot planned for the 1.0 release of the game, but I’m super excited to see how it all turns out and to finally dive into the game that Stunlock have been working towards all this time.
